Hockey Hall of Fame Welcomes Its Newest Inductees
On Monday, November 10th the Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony took place introducing hockey's newest Hounoured Members Glenn Anderson, Ed Chynoweth, Igor Larionov and Ray Scapinello.
This fall's Induction Weekend festivities ran from Friday, November 7th through Sunday, November 9th, 2008 with the Induction Celebration taking place on Monday, November 10th, 2008.
Visitors throughout the weekend were treated to several special events including the official opening of the limited time Montreal Canadiens Centennial Exhibit, an autograph signing with Honoured Members Yvan Cournoyer, Frank Mahovlich, Larry Robinson and Serge Savard, the RBC Inductee Fan Forum featuring the newest Inductees, the annual Source For Sports Hockey Hall of Fame Legends Classic Game and various other events and promotions.

"White Gloves for a Day"
Contest Concludes
This past summer, over 80,000 visitors took part in one of the most unique contests ever run by the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Upon entrance to the facility, each visitor was handed a pair of white gloves. Within more than 430 pairs of the gloves was a winning ticket, which instantly granted the visitors a signed copy of the 'Travels with Stanley' book written by The Keepers of the Cup. Also each winner received a ballot for the Grand Prize a chance to experience a day in the life of White Gloves at the 2009 NHL Awards.
The summer also included the weekly "Tales of the Cup". Visitors joined the official "Keepers of the Cup" for new stories and Q&A sessions about the Cup's travels to exotic locations and celebrity parties. Each "Tales of the Cup" session included a special "Travels with Stanley" book signing.

The new Hockey Hall of Fame Exhibit system launched on May 2nd in Quebec City features approximately 2,000 sq ft of hockey graphics and artifacts.

New HHOF Legends Mobile Exhibit Unveiled
Friday, May 2, 2008 saw the unveiling of the Hockey Hall of Fame`s newest outreach initiative with a brand-new 2,000+ square foot Legends of Hockey exhibit system.
Returning to the scene of the Hall of Fame`s first large-scale outreach display (at Rendez-vous `87), Quebec City, Quebec, the new exhibit, along with an interactive game set-up from Top Shot Hockey, was unveiled in the FanFest zone at the 2008 IIHF World Championship. Designed and funded in conjunction with the International Ice Hockey Federation, it celebrates not only the history of the game, but the IIHF`s 100th anniversary season. The new exhibit features 20 different themes and almost 200 unique artifacts (including Wayne Gretzky, the NHL`s Original Six Teams and the IIHF`s top hockey playing nations) and promises to thrill audiences with colourful large-scale graphics components featuring both the old and the new of the hockey world.
The World Championship FanFest will run throughout the duration of the tournament, from May 2-18 and is open to the public from 10am - 9pm daily.

The Stanley Cup Visits HHOF Writing Challenge Grand Prize Winner at School.
He couldn't eat. He couldn't sleep. And like many of his ecstatic classmates, he couldn't wait for this day to arrive. On Monday, April 7, 2008 a dream came true for a grade five student from Sawmill Valley Public School in Mississauga, Ontario.
As the Grand Prize winner of the Hockey Hall of Fame's Writing Challenge, the Stanley Cup visited Jackson Topo and hundreds of his fellow students. The once-in-a-life-time visit also included a special "Tales of the Cup" presentation by Keeper of the Cup Phil Pritchard plus an opportunity for students to get up-close and personal with hockey's ultimate prize.
This is the second year the Hockey Hall of Fame Writing Challenge has been issued in an attempt to foster writing in the classroom for grade 5-6 students within elementary schools.

Retired Stanley Cup Band on Display Now
On Friday, March 9, 2007 for the second time in history, the Hockey Hall of Fame ceremoniously removed a ring containing the names of past winners from the Stanley Cup. The ring was officially moved to a new public display case in the NHL Zone as part of a ceremony conducted by Hockey Hall of Fame curator Phil Pritchard, five-time Cup winner Marcel Pronovost (as a member of the Detroit Red Wings in 1950, 52, 53 and 54 and with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1967) and two-time winner Gaye Stewart (1942 and 47 with the Maple Leafs).

There's a New Brand of Hockey … And a Brand New Hockey Experience.
On Saturday, March 11, 2006 the Hockey Hall of Fame unveiled the NHL ZONE comprising 6,000 square feet of new exhibits designed and constructed at a price tag of Cdn. $2.0 million. The NHL ZONE is made up of numerous exhibits including NHL Legends, NHL Retro, NHL Today, NHL Milestones and Stanley Cup Dynasties.

Award-Winning Hockey Hall of Fame Course Goes On-Line
From hockey's earliest origins to the Great One and beyond, Canada's great game is now being taught exclusively on-line. A credit course at Seneca College in Toronto, titled The Hockey Hall of Fame Presents…, provides the opportunity for students across North America to participate.
The Hockey Hall of Fame and Seneca College's Faculty of Continuing Education have combined to create this landmark and award-winning on-line course, which takes a serious look at the history and evolution of the game. Each week's topics examine the cultural, social and economic impact hockey has had on Canada.
"We're excited about sharing our passion for hockey," says Hockey Hall of Fame Curator Phil Pritchard, who is one of the course's instructors along with the Editor of Publications at the Hockey Hall of Fame, Kevin Shea. "We are delighted to partner with Seneca in order to take the Hockey Hall of Fame's reputation and resources into the classroom."
